With LumaDeck on your Android tablet, the controls stay in your hand and the master goes to the big screen. The TV shows only the picture — scenes, videos, layers, text and FX — with no buttons or panels. Here is how, step by step.
Prepare the scene or show you want to put on screen and open the MASTER tab.
Tap the Cast icon next to Cast to screen.
Choose your TV in Google's list.
Watch the status: it goes through Connecting and Waiting for video. When it reads Video confirmed next to the TV's name, the picture is arriving. Check the TV anyway: it is what the audience sees.
To finish, tap Disconnect.
If the show was stopped, LumaDeck starts it when sending begins, so the TV does not receive a frozen picture. If you ever see No video, tap Retry.
What the audience sees
The TV receives only the master, as a 1920×1080 picture. Pads, faders, tabs and menus stay on the tablet: you can change scenes, launch a video or bring up text without anyone seeing the controls.
You choose the shape in Program format, in the same MASTER tab. With 16:9 the picture fills a regular TV. With 9:16, the vertical format, the TV shows it whole and centred, with black bands at the sides. 4:3 and 1:1 also get bands at the sides; 21:9, wider than the TV, gets them at the top and bottom. Nothing is cropped or stretched.
LumaDeck does not send sound to the TV: it listens to the music to react, and the sound keeps coming out of your usual setup.
Fullscreen on the tablet
If you also want the master fullscreen on the tablet itself, tap ⛶ in the top bar. The ✕ to exit hides by itself after 3 seconds, so it does not cover the picture; tap the screen to bring it back and press it, or exit with a double tap.
Real capture on an Android tablet, just after entering fullscreen. After 3 seconds the ✕ disappears.
Tips for a smooth show
Same Wi-Fi, always. If the TV does not appear in the list, check that it is on and connected to the same network as the tablet.
A tablet beats an old phone. The picture is generated on the device and sent at the same time: a more powerful device keeps it smoother.
Keep LumaDeck open on the tablet during the show: the TV picture comes from it.
Test before doors open with your real content: scenes, your videos, logo and text. The connection adds a small delay; check it on your TV.
